East Texas has two clogging seasons
Most gutter advice assumes one leaf drop a year. That advice was not written for Angelina County.
Pine needles come down heaviest from September through December, and they do not behave like leaves. Leaves sit loose and can be blown out. Needles knit together into a dense mat that holds water and blocks the downspout, and they slip straight through most gutter guards.
Then live oaks drop again in February and March. That second shed is why one cleaning a year does not hold here, and it is the part most homeowners are caught out by.
Twice a year is the baseline. With pines within about fifty feet of the roof, plan on three or four.
The difference
A gutter either drains or it does not
There is no middle setting. Once the trough packs up, water goes over the edge instead of down the downspout, and it takes the fascia, the soffit and the ground by your foundation with it.
Needles and leaves knit into a mat that holds water. The downspout blocks first, then the run fills, then it spills over the front edge in the next hard rain.
A clean run carries the water to the downspout and away from the house. That is the whole job, and it is the reason the rest of the roofline lasts.

How often should gutters be cleaned in East Texas?
Twice a year is the baseline. In the Pineywoods it is usually more. Pine needles drop heaviest from September through December, and live oaks drop again in February and March, so most homes here have two clogging seasons rather than one. If you have pines close to the roof, three or four cleanings a year is realistic.
Why are pine needles worse than leaves?
Leaves sit loose and can often be blown out. Pine needles knit together into a dense mat that holds water and blocks the downspout. They also slip through most gutter guards and tangle with whatever else is up there. That is why a gutter under pines needs more attention than the same gutter under hardwoods.
What happens if I leave the gutters full?
Water backs up over the edge instead of running to the downspout. Over time that rots the fascia and soffit, works in under the roof edge, and saturates the soil against the foundation. The cleaning is cheaper than any of those repairs.
Do you haul the debris away?
Yes. We bag what comes out of the gutters and take it with us. We do not leave it in your flower beds or pile it by the road.
Can you do repairs on the same visit as a cleaning?
Usually. We check the gutters for loose hangers, separated seams and sag while we clean. If we find something small we will tell you what it is and what it takes to fix, and do it then if you want it done.

Do you install gutters or gutter guards?
No. We clean gutters and do small repairs. We work over and around existing guards, but we do not install new gutters or guard systems. If that is what you need we will say so rather than take the job.
